This is your opportunity to contribute to one of the most vibrant and intellectually stimulating gatherings in the field, set against the beautiful backdrop of Dublin, Ireland.

ICON•S 2026 promises to be an unforgettable event, bringing together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers from around the world to engage with critical issues facing public law today.

Mark your calendars and prepare your submissions! Here are the essential details for the upcoming conference:

  • Conference Dates: June 29 – July 1, 2026
  • Location: University College Dublin (UCD) Sutherland School of Law, Dublin, Ireland
  • Theme: “Reimagining Public Law for a Fractured World: Technology, Identity & Truth”

The 2026 Conference will be in-person, with a limited hybridity option for fully formed panels and book roundtables. For remote participation, please see our policy here.

Crucial Deadlines to Remember

To ensure your work is considered for ICON•S 2026, please note the following deadlines:

  • Main Submission Deadline: February 15, 2026
  • Notification of Decision: approximately March 15, 2026

Please note that if successful, you will need to register individually via Oxford Abstracts in order to secure participation. The acceptance email will include the relevant details and the deadline for doing so.

Types of Submissions

We welcome diverse contributions that enrich the conference dialogue. You can submit your work in one of three formats:

  1. Individual Submissions: Present your original research on a specific topic. These proposals will be grouped into panels by the program committee, fostering dynamic discussions around shared interests.
  2. Organizer of a Fully-Formed Panel/Book Roundtable: Gather a group of colleagues to propose a complete panel (typically 3-4 papers) around a coherent sub-theme. This format allows for deeper exploration of specific issues and encourages collaborative scholarship. Please note that all participants involved in a fully-formed panel or book roundtable will need to make separate submissions alongside the overarching proposal submitted by the panel organizer.
  3. Participant in a Fully-Formed Panel/Book Roundtable: Use this option to submit a paper for or to indicate you will be acting as a chair or discussant on a fully formed panel or book roundtable.

Important Submission Requirements

To ensure a smooth submission process, please keep the following in mind:

  • ICON•S Membership: All presenters, including co-authors, must be current members of ICON•S at the time of submission. If you’re not yet a member, we encourage you to join our growing global community.
  • Abstract Length: Each abstract should be concise and compelling, not exceeding 250 words. Clearly articulate your research question, methodology, key arguments, and main findings or anticipated contributions.
  • Submission Platform: All proposals must be submitted exclusively through the Oxford Abstracts platform, following the links provided in our call for submissions available here.
