By February 18, 2026ICON-S News

Are you an early-career scholar in public law with ambitions to publish your research on the international stage? Do you dream of seeing your work in leading global journals, but feel daunted by the complexities of academic writing and publication standards? ICON•S is thrilled to announce the 2026 edition of its well-renowned ICON•S Writing School!

Publishing Your Research Internationally

The world of academic publishing, particularly at the international level, is highly competitive and nuanced. While your research may be innovative and impactful, translating it into a publishable article that meets the rigorous standards of top-tier international journals requires a specific set of skills and insights. Early-career scholars often face a steep learning curve, grappling with unfamiliar stylistic conventions, the intricacies of peer review, the art of crafting a compelling argument for a global audience, and the subtle expectations of different academic communities. Without systematic training, this journey can be isolating and frustrating, potentially hindering the dissemination of vital new scholarship. The ICON•S Writing School recognizes these challenges and offers a structured, supportive environment to demystify the process and empower you to succeed.

What is the ICON•S Writing School?

The 2026 ICON•S Writing School is an intensive, online program featuring free lectures delivered by internationally renowned legal academics. This school is not just about theoretical knowledge; it’s about practical, actionable advice that you can immediately apply to your own writing. Each session is meticulously crafted to equip participants with the essential tools and strategies needed to produce high-quality, publishable scholarship that resonates with a global readership. From structuring your arguments to engaging with diverse literatures, the Writing School covers the entire spectrum of academic writing for international impact.

It will take place between March 9-19, 2026. All lectures will be conducted online, with times standardized to UTC to facilitate global participation.

The school is proudly coordinated by a dedicated team of scholars: Stefano Osella, Erin Delaney, Amal Sethi, and Gustavo Buss, under the auspices of the ICON•S Committee on Community & Engagement.
